Skooter's 30th B-Day

Skot had a great birthday.  We were able to spend some time together.  He got a cool gift and ate a homeade chocolate cake with friends.  I love my sweet boy.  My sweet 30 year old boy.  :)

Christi's 30th BDay!

OK, so this is a month late...sorry. I had a great day. Skot took me out for a great breakfast. I had a massage and manicure later and relaxed the rest of the day. Skot came home at a decent hour, which was the best part of my day, and we went out to my fav Italian restaurant. When we got home I was surprised by our close friends (the Warr family and Daidre Berry) with balloons, cake, and presents. Who could ask for a better, more relaxing day?

Yeah! Skot and I went to Columbia, MD over Labor Day weekend!

It was a great weekend. We went to Columbia, MD to visit with our sweet friends Andy and Gina Ashby (and baby Kaede, which means maple leaf in Japanese). We had a very busy weekend. On Saturday we went to visit Andy's dental school and then to Baltimore's inner harbor. Sunday we went to church, the Washington DC temple, to some DC monuments, and ate dinner with Gina's mom and dad. Monday we went to Kent Narrows for a lovely lunch on the water - we ate crab the primitive way - with a hammer! It was a quick trip, tiring, but so much fun. :)

5 years!?

Wow, it just seems like yesterday that we got married. It's been a fun 5 years. Lots learned, lots achieved. Now, we just need furniture for the house! If you guys feel inclined to sent us some kind of 5 year anniversary gift, you still can! Woo hoo!

National Criterium Championships

Skot just raced in Downer's Grove yesterday. Needless to say, it rained all day! Very wet. The first race was going OK until the guy in front of Skot slid out in front of him causing him to veer off to the right and hit a hay bale. The hay bales were stacked up 4 tall, so it actually saved him by causing him to bounce back onto the course. crazy.

The second race went better. Most people stayed up. It rained more and more. Skot had a bad start, but ended up making up a few spots during the race. He finished better, but still ending up in the back third of the main field. Fun race, we'll have to wait until next year.

Christi has a job!!! (finally)

So, after 2 years of hard work and lovely lunches provided by her husband, Christi has gone out, passed out resumes, and received a job offer. As of now, it would only be part time, but we're down with it. It may eventually evolve into a full time offer. We'll see! Good job Christi!

Quick update...

OK. I haven't kept up this past month. I received my license in the mail. I actually checked the mail and opened it on July 8th. Yeah! So today is July 28th. I spent a day in Atlanta and brought my sweet little niece back to Chicago with me on July18th. She stayed a week and we had so much fun! I cried my eyes out when she left... I am a big baby. :) When will I be getting a job? Soon... I will be looking this week. Wish me luck!

Uncle Scott and Aunt Bobbi are leaving to serve a mission in Adelaide, Australia. We spent a weekend in Utah visiting family before their departure.

Dental Hygiene License

When will it come?
Who knows.
What I do know is that my friends are already getting theirs in the mail.
That means right now I can expect a 3 1/2 - 4 week turn around.
We were originally told that it would take 8 or more weeks.
I sent my papers in on Monday.... June 18th.
I expect to see something in the mail around July 9th-ish.
